Avenue 503

Located in Polanco, Mexico City, this 156 m² apartment was conceived as a turnkey project with a contemporary maximalist approach, combining architecture, interior design, art, and materiality into a cohesive and highly personal environment.

Our studio developed the architectural and interior design, including the selection of materials and furnishings. The architectural execution was carried out by architect Simón Bissu Bazbaz of SBB Arquitectura.

The project comprises an entrance hall, living and dining areas, kitchen, guest bedroom, and primary bedroom. Architectural elements establish a strong foundation throughout the residence, including matte Gris Rochelle marble flooring and a floor-to-ceiling walnut wood paneling that extends from the corridor into the living area, creating continuity and visual depth.

The material and furniture palette balances warmth and freshness through neutral tones, rich walnut, and terracotta accents. In the entrance, a custom walnut console is paired with a circular mirror to create depth, complemented by carefully selected objects and books, including Basquiat and Before They Pass Away by Jimmy Nelson.

Art plays a central role in defining the character of the apartment. Large-scale works create visual balance within the dining area, while Pedro Friedeberg’s Besa mi culo introduces an unexpected and playful accent. Furniture was selected and designed to reinforce the overall concept, including the custom dining table created by Margaret Bissu Interior Design, featuring a walnut base and polished Bianco Ovulato marble top.

The primary bedroom introduces a distinct turquoise blue palette, creating a visual shift from the rest of the apartment while maintaining its sophisticated and masculine character. Gray tones and walnut wood are layered with turquoise and purple accents through Hermès throws, while Jo Malone candles add an additional sensory dimension.

The result is a warm, contemporary residence where architecture, furniture, art, and carefully curated objects come together to create an expressive yet timeless home.
