BALABIBOP-Musical Early Intervention Tool for Children with Down Syndrome by Yi-Ting Chen
Children with Down syndrome often experience low muscle tone and weak hand control, which can impact the development of everyday motor skills. BALABIBOP uses a progressive, play-based approach to train hand strength and coordination. Through sensory feedback, it gradually reinforces hand muscles and supports future developmental growth.
"The product’s focus is particularly commendable, especially in its emphasis on inclusion and accessibility for minority groups through the use of new technologies. The exploration of alternative learning pathways through music and light represents an innovative approach within this project, demonstrating careful consideration of ergonomic factors and adaptability. The design also fosters a positive and meaningful interaction between the child and the product."
