"A rigorously crafted print and packaging project that transforms environmental loss into a tactile, archival narrative, using disciplined graphic systems and material storytelling to make ecological urgency quietly but powerfully felt."

- World Front Design Award Review

Remnant Scale

Remnant Scale is a highly refined conceptual print and packaging project that translates environmental loss into a powerful visual and tactile narrative. By shifting the viewer’s perspective to a microscopic scale of endangered fish, the project avoids didactic environmental messaging and instead evokes ecological urgency through material texture, abstraction, and absence. The use of fish scales as visual symbols is both scientifically grounded and culturally resonant. This approach successfully reframes endangered species not as distant statistics, but as tangible remnants—traces of life shaped by pollution, habitat destruction, and invasive species. Graphically, the project demonstrates exceptional discipline and consistency. Typography, layout hierarchy, and image treatment are tightly controlled, allowing complex ecological narratives to unfold across posters, book formats, and folded structures without visual noise. The restrained color palette enhances legibility while reinforcing the scientific and archival tone of the work. The physical formats—books, fold-out prints, and packaging—are not secondary containers but integral narrative devices. The act of unfolding, revealing, and layering mirrors the process of investigation and discovery, aligning form with content in a manner highly valued.
