"Inkform II: Canine Tongue" masterfully transforms metal into motion, achieving a poetic balance between strength, fluidity, and expressive impermanence.

Inkform II Canine Tongue
In my sculptural work, I delve into the interplay between presence and absence, yin and yang, reflection and sedimentation, and the contrasts between illusion and reality, fragility and strength. These dualities are not just aesthetic choices but metaphors for the tension and transformation inherent in life itself. Rather than merely shaping materials, I seek to respond to impermanence and emotional flux, letting each form emerge through a process that balances intention with spontaneity—much like the unpredictability of ink splashing across paper. As an artist from Taiwan, I draw upon the island’s cultural sensibilities, where the dialogue between nature, resilience, and spirituality runs deep. This background shapes my perception of contrasts and inspires me to seek a renewed balance between Eastern aesthetics and contemporary sculpture. Through the theme of rebirth and reassembly, I aim to awaken the viewer’s imagination. The work becomes a catalyst—an open space where personal narratives can unfold. The contrasts within each piece serve as a conduit between the form and the viewer’s psyche, opening up a dialogue that transcends the visual and invites deeper introspection.
