The Limited
The Limited is a residential renovation in Mexico City centered on the transformation of an existing apartment into a more open, fluid, and contemporary living environment. The architectural intervention focuses on redistributing the interior spaces to enhance the sense of spaciousness while establishing a stronger visual and functional connection between the main areas of the home.
A key element of the design is the integration of flexible boundaries. The kitchen, positioned at the entrance of the apartment, features a central island in black marble and can be visually separated from the rest of the residence through sliding doors, allowing the space to shift between an open social setting and a more private configuration.
The architectural language is defined by clean lines, carefully proportioned spaces, and a restrained material palette that brings continuity throughout the apartment. Wood paneling, stone, and neutral finishes establish warmth while reinforcing the contemporary character of the intervention. The resulting residence balances openness and intimacy, creating a cohesive sequence of spaces designed around everyday living.
Rather than relying on architectural excess, The Limited derives its character from the careful reorganization of space, the relationship between solid and transparent elements, and the integration of flexible architectural features. The project demonstrates how a thoughtful renovation can reinvent an existing residence while preserving a sense of balance, functionality, and understated sophistication.
