Emergence
Inspired by the ancient morphology of sharks, this theater design utilizes a shark's branchial arch structure to construct a multi-layered stage, encapsulated in a hot-melt adhesive membrane that captures the moment of hatching.
Breaking away from traditional fixed seating, the layered skeletal structure invites audiences to move freely and curate their own visual perspective. During indoor performances, the outer membrane’s varying thickness creates dynamic light reflections, transforming the exterior view into a secondary performance in itself. Just as the shark represents ancient resilience, the image of "hatching" symbolizes the emergence of a transformative, viewer-centric mode of contemporary theater.
